Nutrient Rescue was founded in 2016 after Michael and Samantha Mayell experienced the incredible benefits of a plant-based diet. They discovered that 93% of Kiwis don’t eat enough fruit and vegetables, missing out on essential nutrients for good health.
Determined to make nutrition quick, easy, and affordable, they worked with experts to create a powerful red and green superfood powder. The answer was simple: pure, plant-based nutrition, just as nature intended. As more people felt the difference, the Double Shot was born — a perfect blend of our Green Shot and Red Shot, delivering the equivalent of four handfuls of fruit and leafy greens in one scoop.
We source only the finest ingredients, organic where possible, to ensure maximum potency and purity. Working closely with our growers, we uphold sustainable farming practices that are good for you and the planet.
Today, we continue our mission: nutrient-dense, wholefood powders designed to help people everywhere feel amazing, every day. Because the better you feel, the more good you can do.

Growing superfoods is also easier on the environment - making sustainability something we can truly celebrate.
Grown with care
We partner with New Zealand growers who cultivate nutrient-rich crops in organic or spray-free environments. Harvested at peak nutrition and carefully dried, the young plants are milled into a fine powder. Pure, powerful, and packed with goodness! And it’s not just good for you — these sustainable farming practices nourish the land, keeping it thriving for generations to come.

The driving force
Our leadership team genuinely cares about people and the planet and has driven Nutrient Rescue since 2016. Founders Michael and Samantha Mayell created it to provide an accessible, nutrient-rich food source.
Simon Challies, a daily shot-taker, invested early after experiencing its benefits. Andrew Murray starts his day with a Double Shot and brings broad commercial and community expertise. David Morrow ensures his family gets their daily nutrients and contributes international experience to the Board.
